19 Century Views of the Quartettsatz - An area for further research edit

As I've researched the Quartettsatz, I've found a 1905 book which revealed that at some point in the 19th C it was believed the work was written by Schubert in 1814 (eg It was an early work). The same book also includes a list of Schuberts compositions which correctly gives the year of composition as 1820. This is obviously an area for future research. Other related lines would be:

  • Finding reviews of the 1867 premier not only to gauge the initial reaction, but to identify the quartet that performed it.
  • Tracing the "chain of custody" from Schubert to Brahms and finding information on the role of Brahms in setting up that first performance.Graham1973 (talk) 17:28, 26 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Title is ambiguous edit

There are two pieces commonly called Quartettsatz by Schubert: D. 103 and D. 703. Perhaps a disambiguation is in order? Double sharp (talk) 15:19, 17 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
