Updated the Design and History for latest information regarding the Edinburgh Future Institute and the main surgical building. Mark April 2018

Hi,

I wondered if I can request an edit to this page as much of the information is wrong and out of date. I cannot do it myself as I am involved with the project. I have pulled together the following text and wondered if it could be incorporated. Please let me know if you need any further info.

Thanks

Katy

Suggested version edit

Located on the site of the former Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Quartermile[1] was master-planned by architect Foster + Partners[2] and takes its name from the fact it is a quarter mile from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile and measures a quarter mile from corner to corner.

About Quartermile

The 19 acre mixed use development comprises[3] a mix of turreted 18th Century buildings housing conversion properties, new build apartments, Grade A office space [4] and retail space.[5] Quartermile is due to be completed in 2018. Once complete, Quartermile will provide[6] over 900 apartments, 30,000 sq m of Grade A office accommodation, 10,000 sq m of retail and leisure space and seven acres of open landscaping.

Quartermile is located[7] in the old town within a world heritage site on the northern edge of the Meadows.

Owners

The development was sold by Lloyds Banking Group to property investor Moorfield in September 2013[8][9]. The development is managed by Quartermile Management Services Ltd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.155.197.199 (talk) 11:53, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Quartermile updates edit

Hi there,

Please find below updates for the Quartermile page regarding its development. If you have any questions or queries, please do let me know.

Quartermile has more than 1,000 new build and conversion apartments

Quartermile is a £750m mixed-use development project by Edinburgh developer Qmile Group. Master planned by architects Foster + Partners, the development was completed in 2018 and includes more than 1,000 apartments, 370,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, 65,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space and seven-acres of open landscape [1].

The £750m Quartermile development is located on the former Edinburgh Royal Infirmary site

Quartermile is located on the former Edinburgh Royal Infirmary site which was sold by Lothian University Hospital’s NHS Trust in 2001 [2]. The Quartermile development also houses the Edinburgh Futures Institute, which is the University of Edinburgh’s interdisciplinary hub [3].

In 2017 all commercial units were fully sold or let. Quartermile’s occupiers include travel company Skyscanner, hardware and software solutions supplier Cirrus Logic, and legal firms Morton Fraser and Maclay Murrays & Spens [4]. Additionally, the commercial office building, Quartermile One, has won the Scottish Regional Award for Best Commercial Space in the British Council for Offices Awards [5].

RS Qmile you need to explain if your text is a replacement or an addition: the template instructions say "Clearly indicate which sections or phrases should be replaced or added to, and what they should be replaced with or have added. Examples: Change X to Y; Insert X after/before Y; Remove X." TSventon (talk) 14:08, 7 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hey RS Qmile,
Came here to say exactly what TSventon did. Explain exactly what you want to replace, ideally in a list we can respond point-by-point to.
Additionally, a few points:
  • The Q4 brochure is a primary source and will not work. See WP:RS.
  • Focus on informational changes, not language changes. I don't see a reason to change "It was master-planned by architect Foster + Partners" to "Master planned by architects Foster + Partners, the development was..."
Hope that helps you and ping us when you've made changes.

@FeldBum: Can we |P the Edit Request then, so it's removed from the transcluded backlog? I read the edits, and it seems this request is covered. Cheers. Ferkijel (talk) 12:28, 31 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
