Wikipedia is supposed to be an encyclopaedia, not a string of lists of use only to experts, so please explain....

  • The comments 'McLachlan, 1891, Wang & Bao, 2006', etc, etc. I assume these are books which refer to the genus named, but there is no point in giving them unless you include full details in the sources.
  • The place names under extinct genera - I assume these are places where their fossils were first found, but the article doesn't say so.

The article follows normal Wiki format for a taxon article. The 'McLachlan, 1891, Wang & Bao, 2006' are the names of the genus authors, which are shown in accordance with correct biology formatting. The places and ages are indeed for the type localities where the genera were described from. The details are not covered here, as it wouldn't be directly relevant to an article on the family --Kevmin § 19:04, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
