Hi all, my name is Megan and I am currently enrolled in a sociology class at Florida International University. As part of the course curriculum I have chosen this article to edit and add some information to. To this article I will add what primary socialization is and what are the boundaries it is contained in (for example, where secondary socialization would begin). Also, I will include how various influences during primary socialization affect a growing child. I will discuss some of the social influences that have an effect on the primary socialization process of a person, such as the social media, educational institutions, childhood peers, and the family. In many of the sources I found I saw that they talked about how a lack of persistence of family processes during primary socialization can lead to the emergence of deviant behaviors in adolescents; thus, that is another thing I will add to the article.

You have done a great job to start, however, and I commend you for thinking through what you will add. Maybe also look up who was the first person to talk about primary socialization? - Hi @Megan Molina: , My name is Lucija Kopcalic and I wanted to give you some comments on what you have planned so far for Primary socialisation and what is already available. The article itself doesn't have much material on it which makes the job more interesting for you - almost any information you find through proper research (and the steps we have been taught to have the right sources) will prove useful. I like that you want to explore the boundaries of when does it stop being primary socialisation and moves onto secondary socialisation. The only thing that you will have to be careful with is making sure you are not moving on too much into the later because we want to know the importance of the primary and how it affects our development. Social influences have a great impact on the primary socialisation so it is good you want to look into everything from social media to the family. within our generation both are important but usually we are first exposed to our family members where the shaping really starts so try to work on that as your stepping stone into the never-ending research of socialisation.
As for your sources, they are definitely showing you are on the right track the only thing that you are missing now is a draft of the way you want to organize your page (which we use the sandbox for). Try reading through the sources and mark what could prove as beneficial to the article. There is a lot of information to go through but it gives for more sections of the page. The abstract is already created on the article so use some citations from the sources and create what you imagine would make a good article page for this topic.
