Nonexistent planning edit

I fully agree with this statement:

Plans for securing Iraqi cities following the invasion, infrastructure reconstruction, and transitioning the country into a post-war government — plans to "win the peace" — were either nonexistent or woefully inadequate.

However, it strikes me as a point-of-view statement. Perhaps it should be recast in terms that directly attribute it to a source, rather than attributing it solely through the footnote. Steve Schonberger (talk) 15:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Normally I would agree, but it seems to be pretty well-supported by the following sentences, including one from an official government investigator. Go ahead and preface it with "According to Rajiv Chandrasekaran's Imperial Life in the Emerald City, ..." if it really bugs you. MilesAgain (talk) 15:52, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've also added a comment from Geoff Hoon MP on the matter of planning and the lack of it as he was the United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Defence during the pre-war planning and the invasion itself. --Joshtek (talk) 02:44, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Page Errors edit

Under the section "Political Preparations" there is a sentence ending with the phrase "...with opponents including the permanent members France, China, and Germany." This sentence has a very poor format. France and China are both permanent members of the UNSC (United Nations Security Council) but Germany is not.
