All of Power Architecture

edit

This article is heavily geared towards Linux on IBM POWER systems, but there are some references to other related architecture such as the PowerPC based JS20/JS21 blades and Cell systems such as QS20 and PS3. Shouldn't this whole article be expanded to include information on Linux runing on all Power Architecture based devices, such as computers by Apple, the Killer NIC, Genesi's OWD, OSW, Pegasos and Efika, a multitude of devices running Linux powered by Freescales Power Architecture processors? -- Henriok 14:23, 16 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes (3 years isn't too long to wait for a reply is it?) --Faradayplank (talk) 15:23, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Officialy supported distributions

edit

I removed references on statements that SLES and RHEL are Officialy supported distributions for IBM System p and i and asked for new ones. The question isn't about whether Red Hat and Novell are certified partners of IBM, but whether IBM supports SLES and RHEL on p and i.--Chealer 19:26, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Power on Linux is Wintel

edit

"It is similar to Wintel, the combination of Microsoft Windows running on Intel x86 architecture." - I can't see the relevance of this statement. "Power on Linux" is more of an obvious statement(it's not even a compound word), while "wintel" is a syllabic abbreviation. On the technology side there isn't relevant parallels. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.159.252.133 (talk) 07:05, 8 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. Removing. -- Henriok (talk) 08:27, 8 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

The page was" Linux on Power"

edit

it's insane to remove any reference to community distributions that suppurts Power Architecture based machines included POWER processors ones. Shame on You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.77.205.123 (talk) 00:59, 20 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I don't know how to reverse it though :( -- Henriok (talk) 11:33, 24 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
