Talk:Postage stamps and postal history of Australia

earlier comments edit

Regarding joint issues, there have been, in addition to those listed in the article, an additional joint issue with NZ in the 1980s (for ANZCER), with Germany in the 1990s, and with Greece in 2000 to celebrate the Sydney and Athens olympic games.

Depending on the definition of a joint issue, there was also a joint issue with Thailand and Laos in the 1990s to celebrate the opening of the Friendship Bridge over the Mekong financed by Australia. In this case each country issued a differently designed stamp but issued them on the same first day and a joint first day cover was issued by Australia Post containing all three stamps and first day postmarks from each country.

The joint issue with France mentioned in the article also had different designs for each country but on the same maritime topic, issued the same day.

There were also joint miniature sheets issued with Canada and Ireland in 2000. Each country had a differently designed stamp for a sailing ship with links between the two countries, set in the same miniature sheet.

Proposed merge with Kangaroo stamps of Australia edit

This is quite a lot of duplication of what is in the main Australia article. It hardly warrants its own short article, unless it was much expanded but nothing has been added for over 2 years. The topic will also likely have more exposure to readers in the main article. ww2censor (talk) 11:29, 15 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
