I don't see how this is substantially different from a straitjacket and as such this page should be merged to that article as a subsection. --B.Rossow · talk 14:33, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

A Posey vest and a straitjacket are two different things. A straitjacket is for restraining those in mental health institutions. A Posey vest is used in hospitals and nursing homes to restrain a patient into a bed or chair. It is placed on the patient, has two long ropes at the side, and is tied either behind the back of a chair, or each is tied individually to the side of a bed (similar to a limb restraint).
