Better explanation needed

This article presents a nice little stub, but it needs to be fleshed out.

At the moment, it has a vague introduction, and three rather unexplained diagrams. I was able, after a moment of looking at the last one, to determine what a polar-ring galaxy is, however, this should be explained outright (e.g. "A polar ring galaxy is a galaxy in which a ring is accreted whose orientation is orthogonal to the nucleus, rather than parallel as in a normal galaxy.") Correction to my earlier posting. It is explained in a basic sense. I must not have read it right the first few times. However, I think some captions for the images would be nice. JD 08:18, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

What the??

This article looks like a fourth grader's power point presentation. What kind of images are those anyway? TheOtherSiguy 17:12, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

The point of encyclopedia images is to illustrate a point, NOT to:

• distract eyes away from the article
• distract eyes away from the graphs and to fake, cheap, metallic-looking word-art instead
• make people lose their trust in Wikipedia forever and ever

I suggest that someone remove these images and upload new versions that aren't so... atrocious. SeanMD80^{talk | contribs} 02:56, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of the list

Instead of a list with a huge number of red links, some speculation, and original research, I suggest replacing it with text that describes a few examples and gives citations. Would that be acceptable? Dr. Submillimeter 11:10, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Sounds like a splendid idea. If you think the list is worth saving somewhere, you could perhaps place a copy somewhere for safe keeping (e.g. Talk:Polar-ring galaxy/Galaxy list). -- Sakurambo 桜ん坊 01:39, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
