Additions to Reproduction and Life Cycle

edit

I added a new source and new information to supplement the Reproduction and Life Cycle section. For instance, I went into detail about the ovipositioning of the female basilik. I also described the conditions of the newly hatched plumed basiliks. Eptlizard (talk) 05:28, 19 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Edits

edit

Hi! I made edits to the section structure of the article by reorganizing the "diet" and "reproduction" sections under the "behavior" heading. I renamed the "reproduction" section to "reproduction and life cycle" to fully encompass the section's contents. I also made grammatical and stylistic edits spread throughout the sections. Disambiguation for search on "Jesus Lizard"?

edit

Rather than a simple redirect, can we get a disambiguation option for access to the entry for rock band [The] Jesus Lizard [1]?

Is it legal to own a Plumed Basilisk as a pet in California?65.223.58.226 (talk) 00:12, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, though I'm not sure if that is relevant here. Connorlong90 (talk) 05:26, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Article needs some work

edit

This article is lacking in citations and could use more detail. If anyone knows some good sources for central americal wildlife, would you mind dropping in the appropriate citations? Connorlong90 (talk) 05:28, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Review 11/17/2021

edit

Overall, I thought that this Wikipedia page was rather short and that it could use more detail. Although the information already provided was well written and from trustworthy and scholarly sources, I did not think that this article had enough information. After researching the Plumed Basilisk lizard, I discovered numerous remarkable things about this animal – notably, the fact that this lizard has the ability to run on water. Therefore, under the behavior section, I added a small subsection titled “Running on Water”. In this subsection, I discussed the mechanism that the basilisk lizard uses to harness the water-running ability. I also provided more information about the fluid dynamics that take place in the basilisk lizard’s water-running. I emphasized the way that their water-running ability is unique and the mechanisms underlying this ability is not known, however, research is currently being carried out to better understand the dynamics. Therefore, I cited three articles and I emphasized the physical components that enable the basilisk to achieve water-running. This article was good, but it might need some more depth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarah-Jayne Mabee (talkcontribs) 00:33, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Suggestions and Comments

edit

I would suggest that citations are added to all of the information presented. It sounds good, but it's unclear where it came from. Although the page was very short, the information included was very well written and concise. Edickerson1 (talk) 22:06, 19 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
