Plucker relations edit

The section on Plucker relations makes no sense whatsoever. The notations are inconsistent and the equation meaningless. It should be rewritten properly. 89.92.222.80 (talk) 22:33, 14 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

The article Plucker_coordinates#Quadratic_relation gives an explicit description (with proof) of the quadratic relation between the coordinates for lines in projective 3-space. Does anyone know a good reference for the general case? It's a shame that now we don't even explicitly give those quadratic equations. Evilbu (talk) 15:02, 20 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

In general, they are "Grassmann–Plucker" relations. They are buried in the mess of embeddings and exterior algebra. There should be a page for "Grassmann–Plucker relations" that states them clearly and simply. This author was carried away on a magic carpet of fancy math without regard for the audience. Grassmann coordinates edit

The page "Grassmann coordinates" redirects to here. However if this article contains anything about Grassmann coordinates, it's in a way that 's not recognizable to me. Compare Plücker coordinates (on that page was the link I followed to get redirected here), which is a nice, understandable description of those coordinates.

Therefore I would be grateful if someone

As is, I can only guess what Grassmann coordinates are. Maybe someone with better linear algebra background could extract the information from the existing page, but I definitely can't. --132.199.99.50 (talk) 17:24, 13 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure, but I think "Grassmann coordinates" are the same thing as "Plucker coordinates", but for n other than 3. But these are also sometimes called "Plucker coordinates", the only problem here being that the article on Plucker coordinates talks exclusively about n=3 and no other case. But I think they are the same thing. 67.198.37.16 (talk) 06:50, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Error in Section on Plucker Relations edit

I strongly suspect there is an error in the section on plucker relations. The point is that the z_i are introduced and don't reappear in the formula while at the same time all sorts of v_i show up that are not defined before. Maybe the solution is just to replace all v's with z's but I don't feel confident to do that, since I am new to the subject. Could someone fix this? Thanks is advance! 23:28, 2 January 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Octonion (talkcontribs)

It looks like someone fixed this already. 67.198.37.16 (talk) 06:52, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
