Merge

edit

this page should be merged with pipefitter, pipefitting and pipefitter is the same topic, one is the action of fitting the pipe the other is the person doing the fitting. Since this is located within the trade workers category it is my impression the latter is the intent Granite07 17:40, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

"PTFE tape (similar to teflon tape)" - they are the same thing, Teflon is the trademark name of PTFE when it is manufactured by DuPont. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.69.203.30 (talk) 16:24, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

is "shitty connection" under the heading sweat fittings a technical term? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.11.217.217 (talk) 02:28, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article content does not correlate with article topic

edit

We're told in the lead of the article that pipe fitting is an occupation; however, instead of describing the occupation, the remainder of the article (save for the Occupational hazards section) describes types of pipe and tubing materials. The topic of pipe/tubing materials is, or should be, covered other articles: see Water pipe, Plastic pressure pipe systems, etc. To resolve this, I think the material-related content can be transferred to these existing or new articles as appropriate. Article should be merged

edit

This article should be merged with the article on Pipefitter. One is the trade and the other is the work done by that trade. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crozz131 (talkcontribs) 13:12, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

PEX Pipe Material

edit

PEX piping is becoming more and more popular. It probably should be mentioned.70.79.55.114 (talk) 04:51, 30 September 2011 (UTC)BeeCierReply

Push Fittings

edit

Like Shark Bite - maybe I'm missing where they are mentioned on Wikipedia - but could have a passing mention in "Copper Pipe" section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.190.112.56 (talk) 20:40, 25 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
