Article needs solid overview of current theories for referencing first section - perhaps Alan Soble, who I can't seem to access, or someone similar Jacobisq (talk) 10:57, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Eastern Philosophies

edit

We seem to have a lot of Western philosophies here. Are there no Eastern philosophies of love? Tbeasley0504 (talk) 22:53, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh, wait. It is here. It's small though. We need to add more information. Tbeasley0504 (talk) 00:13, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
There are a lot of Hindu theologian-philosophers, as well as scriptures and religious poetry, that talk about love, both love of God / Krishna / Bakhti, as well
as marital love or affairs - they have whole shastras about it, which could be considered 'philosophy' if Aquinus is.... Nathanielfirst (talk) 22:09, 18 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Not part of main love article?

edit

This seems liked a subset of the main Love article with some text copied from (or to?) it directly... should this be embedded in that, or fleshed out more fully? I am no subject expert of course. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snarfa (talkcontribs) 20:26, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

wrong person?

edit

Jean-Pierre Rousselot in the list of ppl doesn't seem like he had anything to do with love, instead he was into languages... instead I think the link should be Pierre Rousselot, a different person who wrote "The Problem of Love in the Middle Ages: A Historical Contribution" Nathanielfirst (talk) 17:14, 14 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Formatting of this article

edit

This article seems to be written in an essay format, but it should be written in an informational formatting instead. It is not meant to convince people of a certain ideology. I'm going to work on rewording what is already written in my sandbox, and won't move it over to this page unless it is evaluated by others. I will add a link to my sandbox edits here once I begin working on this. Smerblah (talk) 15:43, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
