Fair use rationale for Image:Powerphasecmyk.jpg

edit

Image:Powerphasecmyk.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

FireWire --> IEEE 1394 ?

edit

Hi there. I've been reading through the Phase One article and noticed that it said "Camera back connects through standard 6pin firewire." I've since changed this to "6pin FireWire" (the correct capitalization), but the page FireWire redirects to IEEE 1394 interface. Should we change FireWire in this context to the more generic term (FireWire refers to Apple's IEEE 1394) or leave it as is? I'd appreciate your opinion. Thanks! I'm going to replace this in 1 month if there are no contraindications. Mononomic (talk) 03:44, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Product Technical Data

edit

Since resolution and Dynamic Range has been added, it would be beneficial to add: Pixel Pitch, Pixel Bit Depth and SMI.

This is an encyclopedia article, not a product page for the company. --NeilN talk to me 16:52, 31 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

You are correct, this is the right page to discuss the contents of the article. The page will be rolled back until a consensus is found. Thank you for contributing.. signed:Donan Raven (talk) 22:11, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Donan.raven: Not sure what to make of your comment or rollback. A rollback on behalf of third parties is not a solution when the third parties don't participate in discussion. Do you have a comment on the material? --NeilN talk to me 23:25, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Unilaterally deleting the content without reaching an agreement with fellow contributing editors is not the way forward in *any* case. Since I am asked an opinion, I agree that the page needs more references and that some slightly commercial content be thrown out, but as has been suggested by the other editors, other camera manufacturer pages include product description and this is held to be good practice, so throwing out the tables is OK *only* if other contributing editors agree.. signed:Donan Raven (talk) 23:59, 3 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Donan.raven: See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS and unilaterally deleting content is the way forward in many cases if the content does not adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. And agreement isn't going to be reached if editors who want to retain the content don't participate on talk pages. In this case, company articles are not product catalogs. The content may qualify for it's own article as a "List of..." article if it can be properly sourced. --NeilN talk to me 00:18, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
