I don't know this movie, but I just watched some very popular material on YouTube that appears to be an excerpt from it. The actor in the scenes on YouTube is not playing a pedal piano at all, just an ordinary piano.
All pianos have pedals, but on an ordinary piano these are very few, and only for applying certain effects to the sound (usually either sustaining notes or quieter tone). A pedal piano generally has more than five pedals, and the pedals are used directly for playing some bass notes, not just for effects.
I think the section that mentions Andhadhun should probably be deleted, because it seems to be based on an accidental misunderstanding of what the "pedal piano" is. It's quite a rare kind of instrument, so much that I will make a very silly prediction: that the pedal piano will probably not appear in a mainstream Indian movie until fifty different Indian leading men have already been bluegrass banjo players. :) TooManyFingers (talk) 03:12, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
