Edit request Sailing career When Coleman was 18, he entered Olympic Class sailing competitions in the Soling Class, and competed in Olympic trials in 1976. In college, Coleman sailed for the State University of New York Maritime College, and is one of the few to earn All-American honorable mention in two distinct sports; sailing, and swimming. Since then, Coleman has competed in many world class events such as the J/24, Soling and Etchells classes.[3] Coleman is a North American Champion who narrowly missed qualifying for the Olympics. Coming back in 1983 with his brother Peter Coleman, they competed in the United States Sailing North American Championship at the Mallory Cup[4] winning the gold medal. Teaming up with brother Gerard Coleman in 1992, (Team Coleman) won the Gold Medal in the Olympic Soling class US National Championship, and the Silver Medal for the United States in the 1994 Olympic Soling class at the North American Championship, and were asked to join the US Sailing Team to represent the United States in the 1995 Pre-Olympic Regatta in Savanah Georgia. The question becomes how much of a reference is the photgraph with respect to a claimed weight and height. Meaning, how far off can this height and weight be from what's evident in the picture? Granted, its an older picture with no in-frame reference for comparison, but the picture provided certainly doesn't show someone who weighs 300 lbs, so the claim — if incorrect — is not grossly incorrect. I had thought that the COI editor was going to send these documents to OTRS, and had advised them on this. However, the frequency of requests and the inclination to repeat the contents of past-reviewed proposals without awareness to their prior instances raises questions over how much of these suggestions are immediately cognizable by the editor himself. Thank you for your input. The process of OTRS includes the desemination of information from sent queries, acting "as a point of contact for third parties unfamiliar with Wikipedia's editing process, who wish to notify Wikipedia about an article error or concern." As the COI editor appears at times to be recalcitrant towards informational suggestions offered in this forum, the OTRS provides an excellent alternative for their "exceptional" needs. Perhaps you could shed some light on why this particular weight and height parameter is active in this particular infobox, and what proof is commonly accepted in other articles which feature this parameter? US or North American Championships?

Should the Clifford Day Mallory Cup that Coleman won in 1983 be properly described as the United States Adult Sailing Championship or the North American Championships? US Sailing refer to it as the former, which seems pretty authoritative, but contemporary sources such as this call it the North American Men's Sailing Championships. Historic archives document “Mallory Cup” as North American Championships

Thank you for your very much appreciated evaluation. I am delighted to offer further supplementary verifying source reference resources for your analysis.

Historic documents show the event has always been open to Canadians. These resources document the US Sailing Association (USSA) history. Specially, the USSA origins date back to the founding of The North American Yacht Racing Union (NAYRU) in 1897. These archives document the “Mallory Cup” donated by Clifford D. Mallory. In particular, Clifford D. Mallory was Commodore of Indian Harbor Yacht Club, and head of NAYRU. In 1975, NAYRU changed its name to the United States Yacht Racing Union (USYRU), and in 1991 USYRU change its name to the United States Sailing Association (USSA). Through these name changes, NAYRU’s originally organized 12 qualifying areas for the Mallory Cup remained the same. These qualifying areas are denoted by letters. Canadians are included in qualifying areas within E, K and L. Therefore, Canadians that are members of the USSA, many apply through their regional Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) from these areas. This applies to all North American counties. For this reason; historians documenting this affair showcase this prominent regatta citing the Mallory Cup as the North American Championships.

I realise that some sources refer to the cup as the North American Championships, but want to know why and when US Sailing started to refer to it as the United States Championships.  Declined The pictures do not specify why these sailboats are germane to the subject. Who's sailboats they are is not clear or not readily apparent. This needs to be shown in photographs for them to be appropriate. For example, the Aircraft pilot article, whose topic concerns a person, does not feature any photos of aircraft that do not also readily show a pilot or pilots operating them. As I've said before, photos of the subject sailing a sailboat need to easily and readily show the subject operating, or at least standing on, a sailboat — much as they are doing in the already approved picture used in the article. North American Championships

The America's Cup is an international event. However, the America’s Cup is not America's cup. In the same way, the Mallory Cup, although run by US Sailing, is open to anyone in North America to participate. Consequently, the Mallory Cup is a North American Championship. Numerous supplemental documents verify the event has always been open to Canadians. These resources verify the US Sailing Association (USSA) history. Specially, the USSA origins date back to the founding of The North American Yacht Racing Union (NAYRU) in 1897. These archives document the “Mallory Cup” donated by Clifford D. Mallory. In particular, Clifford D. Mallory was Commodore of Indian Harbor Yacht Club, and head of NAYRU. In 1975, NAYRU changed its name to the United States Yacht Racing Union (USYRU), and in 1991 USYRU change its name to the United States Sailing Association (USSA). Through these name changes, NAYRU’s originally organized 12 qualifying areas for the Mallory Cup remained the same. These qualifying areas are denoted by letters. Canadians are included in qualifying areas within E, H, K and L. Yachtsman competed for North American Sailing Chairmanships' Mallory Cup since 1952. Sailors form different areas in North America compete for the opportunity to represent their district. Canadians that are members of the USSA, may apply through their regional Canadian Yachting Association (CYA). For example, the attached results document Ken Scott representing the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club from Vancouver, BC. This applies to this day for sailors from all North American counties who are members of USSA competing for the Mallory Cup.
