Talk:Paris polyphylla

Taxonomy section edit

Some rewording needs to happen in the taxonomy section. Right now it says that there are about 20 species in China and 10 more in other parts of Asia. With no specification, what is implied is that there are about 30 species of the (single species) Paris polyphylla - and that of course does not make sense. My guess is that the 30 species means of the genus Paris, but it's possible that what is meant is 30 subspecies of P. polyphylla. This needs to be clarified. The information on the number of species in the genus isn't relevant to this article (it belongs in the Paris article), so I've removed it. It very much depends on the source anyway. Peter coxhead (talk) 10:16, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Medical claims edit

Medical claims made in Wikipedia articles need particularly reliable sources; see WP:MEDRS. Some of the claims made in this article do not meet that standard and need to be either clarified (e.g. as merely traditional treatments), have reliable sources added, or removed. As no sources meeting WP:MEDRS have been provided, I have now removed all the material making medical claims. Peter coxhead (talk) 07:04, 3 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
