Agreed Caparbio. This sentence need rewriting as I cannot understand the point being made. "The Folgore operates as Light Infantry, with airborne drop and air transport capability, equipped of modest mechanization is framed in the Forces of Projection under the 1° Commando FOD." --BwB (talk) 15:17, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

"the remainder of the Division surrendered, but without having to show a white flag and without having to raise their hands while surrendering to the British" - so how did they actually surrender? Every legend is very nice but every legend should have its limits - fantasy is beyond such limits.

Surrender during the times of war is regulated by ROE, International Conventions and old customs. Rising white flag is a universal customary sign of surrender and also ruled by the Conventions. If the British would have seen Italian troops approaching without their hands rised and without white flag as a sign of surrender, they would just SHOOT at them. And every reasonable military force in the world would act in such a manner. You see enemy, you open fire. POINT.

Folgore

The Italian Folgore paratroopers had destroyed their weapons prior to surrendering. Soldiers wouldn't normally fire at weary, hungry, and thirsty soldiers who were unarmed. So they didn't raise their arms or use the white flag to surrender.
