Largest Mall

According to this article, the mall has 3 million square feet of floor space, of which 1.8 million is leaseable, which means it falls short of the ~2.2 million that Roosevelt Field Mall has. There exists a need to qualify how each mall claims its right to "largest mall in New York." --Meadowbrook 15:40, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

• The mall has a huge amount of space that it cannot lease per its agreement with the local government. As such, its claim to be largest by total square footage is likely accurate, though its rank third nationwide by gross leasable area is almost certainly incorrect. Security?

I feel someone (possibly me) needs to write an article on the incompetant security officers at this mall. Why is the slogan of Hogan's Diner relevant to an article about the Palisades Mall? I'm sure it was a fine establishment but seeing as it's not even there anymore...I know nothing about the place so I won't take the prerogative of removing it, but in my opinion it bears no relevance and kind of sticks out as a random trivia fact (perhaps there should be a trivia section that this would be more suited for?)

Confusing read

The care takers of the article need to clean up the intro. The stuff concerning the size of the mall makes it very difficult to read. If I read it correctly, it is the second largest mall in the US based upon total square feet. In terms of retail space it is #15. In NY it has the 2nd most retail space of a mall. But the intro is so convoluted in this regard, that I'm not sure. It is further complicated by a statement that makes no sense. It says that it is the 15th largest mall in retail space, but then lists 2 other malls as having more. This is usually done when dealing with a place that is only beaten by the other two locations---thus, it implies it is the 3rd largest mall.Balloonman 06:48, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

This entire passage:

It is worth a note (possibly two lines maximum) that the Mall has "laid waste" to the Nanuet Mall. As for the fact of sources, it might be worth a look at the revenue changes in the last ten years, or the fact that the Nanuet Mall regularly loses and gains new stores. A Prime example of this, would be the loss of one of its greatest "staple" Stores Boscov's, in June 2008. I'd be so bold as to say i believe a simple picture of the current state of the Nanuet Mall, in comparison to how it was 5 years ago would be enough proof. It is like a shell of its former self. You need sources that explicitly establish that the Palisades has hurt the Nanuet. Losing and gaining new stores does not establish this, since this occurs even in the Palisade Center, and a photo is subject to interpretation, and impossible to use as verification of this. This looks like cherry picking what belongs in the 2010s section (i.e. leaving the mention of "full occupancy" without mentioning what happened the following years). M.Bitton (talk) 23:34, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Closings could be seen as reflective of the mall's overall success or failure. As long as they're supported by proper citations, they should remain. Nightscream (talk) 22:02, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

Lord & Taylor

Lord and taylor closing should be short and simple no need to bring up the city councils opinions on the mall as theyre unrelated and makes it seem like the mall is failing to a degree. Most malls just mention the store closing.Complexhistorian (talk) 00:44, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
