This article is in need of a lot of updating. The species has spread and infested thousands more acres since this article last received an update. It has also been re-categorized taxonomically as Oplismenus undulatifolius. Efforts to contain or eradicate from parks in Maryland and Virginia have been largely unsuccessful, though finding a references will be tricky.
