No, I don't think the article should be merged with the origins of Prussia. I see the Old Prussia article describing the former Baltic Prussian state, while the OfP belongs to history of the Branderburg Germanic state, which only assumed the name of the former. Oppose merging, to my knowledge Old Prussia was the first of the Baltic tribes to reach a pre-state or even early state-like status, Lithuania did just take over the good start.--Lokyz 20:22, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Support merging. From where term Old Prussia is taken? I don't find this term in lithuanian historiography. Throw away your baltophilism and open your minds. Old Prussia never was a state and Old Prussians were separate tribes not a nation. Even term Old Prussia didn't existed. Prussia was always named as Prussia. In serious literature there is no such term like "Old Prussia" cause the territory where lived Old Prussians in literture is named as Prussia and nothing else. Even so, term Prussia in beginning of 13th century was applied only to territory that was near Frisches Haff, neither Sambia nore Bartia were part of Prussia in these times. Originally a redirect, "Old Prussia" was turned into an article last year. No sources are provided for its content, which largely duplicates information at Old Prussians and Origins of Prussia. That latter article itself should be merged into "Old Prussians" as well, as they essentially discuss the same topic. There was no state called "Old Prussia", while "Origins of Prussia" basically covers the same content as "Old Prussians". "Old Prussia" as a term in English publications has no uniform meaning, although it often refers to "Prussia proper" (West and East Prussia) to differentiate from the rest of the Kingdom of Prussia, or to the Kingdom of Prussia before the Napoleonic era.
