Too many species are magpies! For this reason, I believe it is preferable to use the scientific names as page names. This page needs cleaning up and maybe disambiguation. Satyrium 14:55, 25 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The white markings on the wings in the photo appear to be too prominent for the moth to be Nyctemera annulata, but matches N. amica and the similar looking N. amica x annulata hybrids.

According to Andrew Crowe's 2002 book "Which New Zealand Insect?", the Australian species Nyctemera amica is known to occur in Auckland and Nelson, where it interbreeds with N. annulata. Pyrus 19:16, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
