Northernmost settlement? edit

Northernmost sttlement? Is CFS Alert not a settlement?

Yep, I agree. CFS Alert does seem to be farther North. I think there are others too. Jack 10:34, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

According to their respective pages ny alusend is at 78 degrees and change, alert is at 82 and change.

You're right, I didn't see the co-ords. I've changed CFS Alert to read "one of the most" northernmost. Jack 09:07, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Clarified edit

I changed "administered by Norway" to "a full part of the Kingdom of Norway". In American English "administered by Norway" means specifically that it is not a full part of Norway.

City? edit

I'll admit to being new to wikipedia, so maybe there's some technical definition of city I'm missing, but I can't find one. As such, I'd take objections with it being called a "small city". A settlement with 35 people is far from a city. That's a hamlet, and a fairly small one at that.

Is this just a newbie not knowing the right terminology, or am I ok changing it to "settlement" or some similar thing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.163.38 (talk) 06:00, 5 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

At face value, your comments are accurate. I've done some searching to try and discover any official designation as a city, but cannot find any evidence. The settlement appears to be commonly referenced as a town, which makes sense. Unless other editors have conflicting evidence, it should be altered.
