58-th army It is generated in November, 1941 in the Siberian military district. Originally its(her) structure included 362-nd, 364-th, 368-th, 370-th, 380-th, 384-th shooting divisions, 77-th кавалерийская a division. After сформирования it has been relocated in the Arkhangelsk military district where conducted defensive works. In the end of May, 1942 it is reformed in 3-rd tank army. Commanders: Century I.Kuznetsov (November 1941), the general-lieutenant; N.A.Moskvin (November 1941 - May 1942), the colonel, since May 1942 general-major.
Again 58-th army is generated in June, 1942 on front Kalininskom. In the beginning of August it is turned on formation of 39-th army. The commander: A.I.Zygin (June - August 1942), the general-major.
The third formation of 58-th army is carried out in the end of August - September, 1942 on the Transcaucasian front (management of army is created on the basis of management of 24-th army). Originally the army included 317-th, 328-th, 337-th shooting divisions, Махачкалинская a division of People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs, 3-rd shooting brigade, artillery and engineering parts. Made the equipment of a defensive boundary in area of the city of Makhachkala. Since December, 1942 in structure of Transcaucasian, then North-Caucasian fronts participated in Fight for Caucasus, since April, 1943 defended coast of sea of Azov from Маргартовки up to Ачуева. In the end of October, 1943 management of army is turned on доукомплектование managements Приволжского of military district, armies are transferred(transmitted) in other armies. Commanders: Century A.Khomenko (September - till November, 25th 1942), the general-major; K.S.Melnik (November 1942 - till October, 17th 1943), the general-major, since April 1943 general-lieutenant.

editI had a look by chance, and all other articles in Wikipedia use North Caucasian rather then North Caucasus. While I am not convinced one way or another, the North Caucasian Republic and North Caucasian Front kind of make it a no choice. There was a double redirect fix recently, but no earlier moves.
