Marxism-Humanism edit

This statement doesn't seem to belong on this page.

New Humanism is also a term sometimes applied to the Marxism-Humanism of Raya Dunayevskaya.

There is no Marxism-Humanism page and the term New Humanism doesn't appeary on Raya Dunayevskaya's page. Tedernst 16:26, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Though Marxism-Humanism is mentioned ... Charles Matthews 20:13, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but this is a page called New Humanism, not Marxism-Humanism. Tedernst 21:05, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar edit

This statement doesn't seem to belong on this page.

Neo-humanism is a term used in the teaching of Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar.

No one clicks on a link to new humanism expecting to find neo-humanism (or if they do, we need a disambiguation page that points to neo-humanism) Tedernst 16:31, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

On the Talk:Argentine literature page, I've been told the new humanism and neohumanism are synonyms. If that's true, we truly have a world of confusion here.

disambiguation edit

This article was originally about Babbitt and More. The Humanist Movement information was added later. The Humanist Movement page is really where information about that use of the term belongs, not here. We could put a disambiguation link at the top of this page pointing to the Humanist Movement page (and delete the info on this page about the Humanist Movement) or change the name of this page to New Humanism (Babbitt and More) (or some other name) and create a new page with this name that is a disambiguation page pointing to this page-renamed and to the Huamnist Movement page. Opinions? Tedernst 16:40, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Looking at the backlinks, there is one from Argentine literature giving another meaning (which we should include). My solution: make this page just about the Babbitt-More trend; create a new page New Humanism (disambiguation) for all other usages. Charles Matthews 20:16, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
Okay, that sounds fine, too. Tedernst 21:04, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

On the Talk:Argentine literature page, I've been told (I think), that that page actually does refer to Babbitt's trend and should point here. I've recommended that they edit this page to mention Argentine literature here so it's clear. If that's all true, then we don't need the disambiguation page at all and can change the disambiguation message at the top of this page to point to New Humanism (Humanist Movement) Tedernst 15:39, 6 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

New Catholic Humanism edit

we might need to disambiguate further because of an edit war over who is and who is not a humanist on humanism. there is a New Humanism, in Catholicism in which JPII and Mother Theresa seem to be part. --Buridan 13:06, 11 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Clarity would be good here edit

A clearer explanation as to what the New Humanist critical approach entails would be beneficial. --138.73.76.229 05:16, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
