Reliable sources to aid article improvement edit

For a major topic of technological development that could affect worldwide food supply in the coming years, this is an appallingly poor article as it stands right now. But for anyone alerted by its recent WP:AFD who is interested in improving it, here is a selection of just a few independent reliable sources that talk about NBTs in detail to get you started:

Hoping to work on this myself sometime soon, too Nick Moyes (talk) 01:38, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'll be taking a more in-depth look over recent edits shortly, but most of these do not satisfy WP:SCIRS/WP:MEDRS or else they just use the term "new breeding techniques". A lot of caution is needed to discuss new breeding techniques in an encyclopedic manner with both the former and the latter in mind. Kingofaces43 (talk) 18:47, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I ended up this far removing a bit of content. Most of it was related to tone being careful of WP:POV, WP:FRINGE, etc. and not using magazine or advocacy group sources. The other main issue I'm still running into is sources just saying these are new set of breeding techniques, but there really isn't any clear definition aside from that (part of the neologism issue being discussed at AfD). In some cases, we had content saying these techniques were different from genetic modification in cases like cisgenesis, etc. even though that contradicts other sources out there and other Wikipedia articles. I left behind edit summaries for individual small edits, so if there are questions about something, let me know.
We'll get the AfD sorted out whichever way it goes, but I since this is focusing on a mixture of gene editing, GMOs, etc. within plant breeding, I'd suggest tackling areas of those articles first. If those articles get enough content that's worth splitting into a single article while avoiding a WP:COATRACK of many hats related by nothing more than just being a new genome editing technique, it would be worth discussing what an encyclopedic title would be. Until then, most of this seems to fall under genome editing related articles if not GMO. Kingofaces43 (talk) 21:29, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
