The plant is robbed of its nectar. The nectar is stolen. "Nectar robbing" is less than fully literate: Nectar stealing is the literate title of this article. And recently it's been on Wikipedia's main page.--Wetman (talk) 16:06, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Although both "nectar robbing" and "nectar stealing" are found in the scientific literature (e.g. scholar.google.com search) or the web (e.g. google.com search), the former is far more common. Kingdon (talk) 11:34, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, doesn't that say something. And it says something about Wikipedia, that where the scientific literature is divided, Wikipedia comes down firmly on the less-literate side. Nectar robber would be perfectly correct. wny would there be any objections to that title?--Wetman (talk) 01:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
- See WP:COMMONNAME. As for objections to Nectar robber, I think it's preferable that the title reflects the focus of the article, and this is the phenomenon itself, not specifically one participant in the phenomenon. Ypna (talk) 21:53, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
