This article contains a major cleanup banner that is still relevant (no sources in the final section, "Milestones"), and many [citation needed] tags, some as old as 2014. Fixed. The answer to the question "important milestones according by whom" is obvious: The Nobel Prize committees who have awarded 12 Nobel Prizes for work in the field of natural products.
