Threshold for list inclusion edit

There's a list of "National gods" with no references nor inclusion standards.

Would Ahura Mazda qualify as a national god for Persia? Power~enwiki (talk) 05:45, 11 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Zoroastrianism was a more Universal religion that was practiced by the Armenians and other non-persian groups for some time so I don't think he would count as a national deity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.79.144.150 (talk) 02:49, 5 February 2019 (UTC) http://www.academia.edu/18709024/Armenian_and_Georgian_Zoroastrianism — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.79.144.150 (talk) 03:07, 5 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Anachronism edit

Could this article be tagged in need of substantial editing, as "national" is a modern label that is anachronistic when applied to antiquity

"Tribal god" is missing & much needed edit

To section above: not good enough of an answer, not by far. Wokeness kills communication by removing essential, organically developed parts of the lexical wealth of each language.

A tribe has very different characteristics from a nation, and size isn't even the most important one. Tribal god is widely used in academic texts and that's only logical. We need it here too. Arminden (talk) 16:22, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
