question

This article currently says the movement is led by Sayed Ishaq Gailani. But a survey of politicians from Paktika says there are two politicans from that Province with very similar names. Pir Ishaq Gailani and Pir Sayed Ishaq Gailani. They are uncle and nephew to one another. The USN survey says the two men are "estranged". It lists the uncle as founder of the "National Solidarity Movement of Afghanistan", and it says the nephew is "associated" with the movement, but uses a transliteration of the movements name into Persian, rather than the English translation. The photos of the two men from the USN survey bear a striking resemblance to one another. I can't help wondering whether they are simply two photos of the same individual, at different ages. I took another look at NPS survey recently. I may have misread the relationship between the uncle and nephew. It may have referred to Pir Gailani as the uncle.

The article currently says the NSMA supported Hamid Karzai during the Hamid Karzai during the 2004 Presidential election. But Sayed Ishaq Gailani was a candidate himself, so I think that is extremely unlikely.

The NPS survey says:

:"Nazhat-e Hambastagi Milli (National Solidarity Movement/National Islamic Front): Led by Pir Ishaq Gailani. Party promotes national unity, security and a national development plan. Tied to the Maraboutic Sufi order; has considerable influence over the Khugiani tribesmen."

I suspect that Mahazamili, Nazhat-e Hambastagi Milli, and Hezb-e Mahzat-e Hambastagee-ye Melli-e Afghanistan are different transliterations of the same group. I think that implies that the following transliterations are among the possible transliterations, that should all be redirected to this article:
