Talk:National Practitioner Data Bank

comment edit

This needs an introduction. Maybe the background section can be turned into one. Comatmebro (talk) 06:30, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

speedy deletion edit

I've tagged this for speedy deletion. There is no encyclopedic content here, and almost all the content is a lightly edited version from http://www.npdb.hrsa.gov/topNavigation/aboutUs.jsp. There are no independent sources discussing the notability of this data bank. The article was created by the agency that runs it (with no declaration of paid editing, I note) apparently for promotional purposes. Jytdog (talk) 14:41, 27 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedy deleted because... edit

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --162.99.233.159 (talk) 14:53, 27 February 2015 (UTC) The National Practitioner Data Bank is a U.S. Government entity, not a commercial business, and as such, is not "advertising" or "marketing" its services, but rather, providing important public information. It is true that the author works for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agency that oversees the Data Bank, we tried to be as straightforward and objective as possible.Reply

nonsense. many things drive COI, as much as money does. Please actually read WP:COI. This piece is not an encyclopedia article, it is some kind of directory listing. Please read WP:NOT which describes what WP is, and most importantly, what it is not. And your comments do not address WP:NOTABILITY which describes the key criteria for wikipedia articles to exist. Please read that. There is not a single independent source and there is literally nothing that discusses the significance of this database.
This article should not exist - it is devoid of content and just a place to hang a link to your website. It should be deleted, and if somebody wants to write an actual encyclopedia article, they should do. Jytdog (talk) 15:05, 27 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
