12 members revealed edit

12 members of the 2000s All-Decade who are in the 2010 Pro-Bowl team have been revealed on nfl.com. However, there's no indication of which team they're on so I'm not sure it's worth updating the page yet. Rasher (talk) 22:48, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

No 1st team/2nd team edit

I checked all over the web and can't find any voting results to garner who is the 1st team and who is on the 2nd team. I have read that the team is just named without 1st or 2nd team designations. Yes, I agree. I didn't create atricle, but did add things. I want to see a 1/2 team verficiation at some point. They always did it that ,way, but this one seems different.Bigmaninthebox (talk) 05:15, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I couldn't find anyone breaking down first- and second-teams. However, I would suggest that we wait to see something on either the PFHoF site or the NFL site that is definitive. I would expect that the PFHoF will post something on Monday that will be definitive. — Deejayk (talk) 06:11, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is no 1st/2nd team, the NFL announced the team as a 53 man roster. http://www.nfl.com/history/legends/2000s & http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8161b0e9&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.223.226.6 (talk) 19:03, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and removed the "First Team" and "Second Team" designations from the table headers. If it comes out later that there are, in fact, first- and second-team designations, these can be re-added. If not, we may wish to consider changing the layout of this table at some point to alleviate confusion, since this would be a change from prior All-Decade teams. — Deejayk (talk) 20:12, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Still have not seen anyone reporting a distinction in this decade's team between first- and second-team. Have also noticed that the article has caused confusion in this regard. The structure of the article and the apparent random order of the list caused editors to apparently attempt to assign their own order. I went ahead and restructured the table in an attempt to alleviate the confusion. — DeeJayK (talk) 23:51, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
UPDATE: Noticed today that the HoF site was finally updated with the 2000 team, and they do break out first- and second-teams. I've updated the article (reverted to previous table layout) and provided the citations to the HoF pages. Case closed.— DeeJayK (talk) 22:04, 23 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fullback edit

I think Lorenzo Neal needs to be added as the single fullback on the team.NEPats (talk) 04:51, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Questioning validity/value of "Teams with the most players/coaches" table edit

My first concern with this section that was recently added is that it may constitute original research, as I do not see this sort of breakdown by team in any of the listed references. Secondly, I question whether this sort of information is really germane to the topic covered by this article -- seems like it falls under the trivia category. Unless someone presents a cogent argument for keeping this section along with a reference that supports it, I am leaning toward removing it altogether. For now, I've relocated it to the bottom of the article. I'll hold off on removing it until others have had a chance to weigh in.— DeeJayK (talk) 15:18, 25 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Since no one chose to defend this section here, I've gone ahead and removed it due to the concerns I cited above. — DeeJayK (talk) 14:43, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
