It is great to read in Wikipedia about this tiny village but most prosperous one in that area. I would think that change happened so quickly for the catholic population of this village due to the timely intervention of the French Missionaries in the last century.

the Missionaries give importance to education of all and once education was a felt need of the people there was no turning back.

the catholics are very devout too. the special devotion to our Lady guides them all the way is my belief.

the sons and daughters of th is soil are contributing greatly in the national growth and progress at various fields.

Nangathur is a classical example of what education could do in the development of the nation.

I am proud of Nangathur my Birth place. still when i visit a beautiful village or country side in any part of this world, Nangathur comes back in me and re-live my childhood.

the granite mountains are vanishing, it is pity and no body raising the voice against those make money after plundering the God given natural beauty of the village.

I wish and pray some sanity may prevail on this issue of Granite decoity!

Long live NANGATHUR!
