Mar 2019:Rachael Alert child abduction alert system... edit

Hi there, Kieronoldham. I don't know your linguistic background, but I see we have a difference regarding the wording of a phrase in Murder of Rachael Runyan. When I made my edit, I felt it was an improvement in that the Rachel system was in use for about one year, which made the use of the term "only" both confusing and misleading. The article previously did not state how little time the Rachel system was used before the AMBER alert system was adopted. Do you have sources stating that the Rachel system was poor quality or a failure? I'd like to know your granular justification for your edit, please! Thank you.--Quisqualis (talk) 01:14, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

I am (as you are possibly already aware) primarily half English and half Irish (extended family from elsewhere) and I usually amalgamate both into certainly ongoing verbal communication. The edit I made was a revert of the sentence beginning "During the year in which the Rachael Alert child abduction alert system was in use, it was activated in the 2002." I am sure you already know this. Hopefully this article will become GA.--Kieronoldham (talk) 02:50, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Quisqualis I feel the article is more informative if the detailing of the chronology of events and the success regarding the outcome of the children's abductions is mentioned, this alongside Utah's ultimately replacing the Rachael Alert system with the AMBER alert child abduction system. If you feel otherwise, be my guest to make adjustments. Best regards to you and keep up the good work.--Kieronoldham (talk) 22:59, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Little Miss Sunset edit

According to Rachael's mother Elaine on "Justice for Rachael Runyan", the photograph she posted to Facebook (and which is in our infoxbox) is the one that appeared in the newspaper after Rachael was crowned Little Miss Sunset. She also told me that Rachael was entered as a last minute thing - and she won!. Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 22:51, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Private Investigation edit

The Runyan family hired Jason Jensen, a private investigator who in March 2020, stated that the composite sketch previously relied on may be incorrect.[1] Jason Jensen has 26 years of experience and a master’s degree in criminal justice.[2] The family’s private investigator and the mother are working with Sunset police and investigators with the Attorney General on the new description.[3] Jensen said they are no longer just focused on this person being African-American. “We believe that he’s non-Caucasian,” Jensen said. “The person of interest responsible for Rachael’s death is likely a dark brown complexion,” he added during a March 2020 interview.[4] Pointing to the previous composite drawing, Jensen stated, “Here it looks specifically African American and people think ‘oh we’re looking for an African American.'”[5]

But Jensen discovered a second composite drawing that was released to the media in 1982 but it was long forgotten. ABC4 News, in their art department, made adjustments according to the witness’s description.[6]

Following the release of the changes to the suspect description, Jensen received a tip about a man who was living in the Sunset area at the time of Rachael’s kidnapping.[7] “I believe the person, the tip that we got, is a local,” Jensen said.[8] Allegedly the person of interest resembled the second composite. The person of interest’s name is known, but will not be disclosed for the time been. Information about the person of interest was provided to the Sunset police. The chief of Sunset police confirmed they are investigating this person of interest and are gathering DNA to compare it with their evidence.[9] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jasonjpi1978 (talkcontribs) 00:56, 14 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
