Where is Skopje?

edit

I have found no Skopje municipality on the list. I expected it inside the Greater Skopje region. Is Skopje not a municipality?

Mistake?

edit

I have an PDF document published by Macedonian Statistical Office and there is a map in that document which show that municipality number 54 on map in this article is not Plasnica but Vraneštica, and municipality number 53 is not Vraneštica but Plasnica - in another words, seems that somebody changed places of those two municipalities in the article. I will correct that if there are no objections. PANONIAN (talk) 10:12, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Coatofarmsradovish.gif

edit

Image:Coatofarmsradovish.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Naming

edit

Please have a look at Category_talk:Municipalities_by_country#Naming - LocodeMaster (talk) 18:56, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I also put this to Category talk:Municipalities of the Republic of Macedonia and to WProject Macedonia. Bulgaria switched to uppercase. Now Sweden, Denmark, Venezuela, Sout Africa, Bulgaria, Montenegro (redirects), partly Croatia and BiH use uppercase. I will move the Macedonia municipalities soon, please state reasons why not, for that there is no problem when I would move. LocodeMaster (talk) 18:17, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I moved articles with letter A and B. There are lots of redirects, hopefully a maintenance bot will fix them. Doing by hand is too much. LocodeMaster (talk) 18:39, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The image File:Gostivarski grb.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

edit
An image used in this article, File:LocolGovermentMacedonia.png, has been nominated for deletion at Wikimedia Commons in the following category: Deletion requests March 2012
What should I do?

Don't panic; a discussion will now take place over on Commons about whether to remove the file. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion, although please review Commons guidelines before doing so.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.

Changing the naming model of the Municipalities

edit

I noticed that every municipality is named with the model "<Name> -> Municipality" eg. Bitola Municipality. That is wrong because the municipalities have different translation in English. The correct model is "Municipality of <name>". That can be seen from every English version of the web sites of the municipalities. (Website of the Municipality of Kochani) Therefore I will change that.Macedonicus (talk) 20:29, 13 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia has its house style. The WP naming convention is "<Name> Municipality", any "official" is secondary. Compare Burma <> Republic of the Union of Myanmar. JelgavaLV (talk) 01:15, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Map and table update

edit

I updated the map and tomorrow I will rearrange the numbers so we do not miss 4 numbers. --MacedonianBoy (talk) 23:58, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

The map numbering is according ISO 3166-2:MK. It includes the former 4 municipalities so the gap of 4 numbers must be kept. The table and the maps is done until the ISO code is updated,--MacedonianBoy (talk) 00:07, 27 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for doing that. --Local hero talk 02:04, 27 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well done. Macedonicus (talk) 12:33, 29 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
