Mullazai has no Baloach Population

edit

Mullazai is a village from districtTank District of Khyber PakhtunkhwaProvince of Pakistan. Please visit Google Maps for its verificaiton. http://maps.google.com/maps/place?ftid=0x3927d7e85509b3d9:0xff4c8d63623d6888&q=mullazai&hl=en&ved=0CAwQ-gswAA&sa=X&ei=39_IUOucJ8ODtQas74HICA (talk) UTC

Thanks for that, I was very confused about how an article about a place outside of the Baloach area had previously so many references to it being Baloach. I wanted to remove the Baloach references, but needed someone with the know-how to confirm it. Glad it is cleared up, thank you. Pjposullivan (talk) 20:04, 12 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dispute / Citation Tag

edit

I have marked the citation tag on various - almost all the claims made - at the articles. As the claims are non-linked, seems self-esteemed and just to fame Sarfaraz Khan Marwat (God knows well whi he is or was) the article is disputed too. So I have no qualm left before placing dispute tag too. Please provide the links and nuteeralise the article before removing any of the tags. Reasonable Discussion

edit

Alright, let's try and have a calm and reasonable discussion about this edit war. There is to be no name calling and no personal attacks. Comment only on the article, not on the other person. maybe we can accomplish something here. Nobody here is better or worse depending on who they are or where they live. This has to do solely with the article.

  • AurangzebMarwat: Please explain what you are trying to do with the article and what you have been doing. Please include diffs, which are links that show a particular edit. You can find them by going to the history of the article and pressing the "prev" button next to an edit. Then you can copy the URL of the page and post it here, like this: [1]
  • PakhtunZalmay: Please explain why you have a problem with AurangzebMarwat's edits and what you would like done instead. Please include diffs as well.

let's see if we can handle this peacefully. A little insignificant Help, it's almost Halloween! AAH! 16:47, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the family tree as the article is about the town, not a family. I have also removed the directory listing of people. Please do not list people in this article unless they meet Wikipedia's standard of notability - being notable locally doesn't count. --NeilN talkcontribs 16:56, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

And I have no idea why a map is being used as a reference for many statements. Removed. --NeilN talkcontribs 17:01, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

This whole thing's a mess. One of the users above complained that refs were being removed. On the contrary, I'm seeing a lot of excessive, repeating, badly done refs. All the refs need to be placed inside <ref> </ref> tags, then excessive spacing needs to be removed. That should make the article more readable, inside the edit box and out. Then we need to fix grammatical errors, punctuation, rephrasing, etc. I'll be logging off in a few minutes. Hope things don't go to hell in the meanwhile. A little insignificant Help, it's almost Halloween! AAH! 17:08, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I came to this page because of complaints, but I'm not sure what the complaints are. If someone could explain what the problems are that they have with this article I'd be grateful. I've removed the constant references to the map link - it should be present once and once only, in the external links. DJ Clayworth (talk) 17:27, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Agreed, I did the same earlier but was reverted. To editors involved in the dispute: you now have a couple of uninvolved editors willing to help so it's best to come here and discuss rather than reverting without comment. --NeilN talkcontribs 17:35, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

People

edit

The section currently headed "People" describes some customs and practices of this community, but gives no indication that they are different from the practices of the surrounding communities. If they are not different they should be described in an article about the wider communities. Any comments? DJ Clayworth (talk) 17:30, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is there anybody who thinks that this section should be kept? DJ Clayworth (talk) 00:07, 4 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Attention Please

edit

{{editprotected}} It is humbly requested that article Notables portion and education portion should be broght back to its original position as it was done by user AurangzebMarwat. Land given to schools are donated by late Lt.Col Sarfaraz khan Marwat, i witness to this. He was member of Gen. Zia-ul-Haq cabinet known as Majlis-e-shoora thanks Newsfuse (talk)

This has been debated at great length. However it is not clear that Lt.Col Sarfaraz khan Marwat is actually notable. We can find no references to his having been a part of the Pakistani cabinet, and this has resulted in the article you link to being deleted. If you know of such a reference please link to it here. DJ Clayworth (talk) 18:55, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Note that the freebase reference used earlier is not acceptable by wikipedia standards as freebase can be edited by anyone. --NeilN talkcontribs 19:14, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I've just realized that references #3 and #4 are links to the same url. And ref #5 is simply the homepage of the same website. Could an administrator fix this?
And a couple of other things I've noticed. The third sentence in the geography section needs a period, the second sentence in the same section is a fragment, the origin section has major punctuation problems, and the last three sections all need references. If these could all be taken care of, that would be great. I hate edit wars... A little insignificant Help, it's almost Halloween! AAH! 19:23, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Editprotected

edit

All edit protected requests have been denied. The page is locked for a reason. When requesting changes, these will have to have agreement BEFORE you make an edit request. —TheDJ (talkcontribs) 15:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agree. The reason the page is locked is so the warring parties will discuss the problem on the talk page. It is not so the edit warring can continue with edit-protected requests, and it is not so the warring can resume the instant protection is lifted. Take some initiative here. For the last time, no! Not until you have discussed the problem with User:PakhtunZalmay! The whole reason the page is protected is so editing can stop and dispute resolution can begin! A little insignificant Bloated on candy 18:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agreed I totally agree with User:Newsfuse and User:AurangzebMarwat for un-protecting the article. But on an a condition that every edit would be made after being discussed here, atleast for two days (48 hours). PakhtunZalmay (talk) 15:59, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lot of users abroad delet/remove or according to my opinion ruin articles,as they dont have priror knowldg or information about that.so all who are not from pakistan need to look into matter carefully, not for sake of earning good scores on wiki, all i want to say, make things betterMarwatTribe (talk)

Please give an example. Note that the changes by established editors followed Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Also, if you are 58.65.166.154 please read User_talk:58.65.166.154#Mullazai --NeilN talkcontribs 13:41, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
