Revert regarding IUCN designation edit

I reverted this edit.

Monge State Park appears to be protected under International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) based on this:

We have a Portuguese article on the subject:

translated to English: Environmental Protection Area of the Devonian Escarpment

Please see the discussion at: Talk:Environmental_protection_area_(Brazil)#Devonian_Escarpment

Aymatth2 It appears that you added the original designation as category II. --David Tornheim (talk) 11:34, 27 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Protected_areas#IUCN_designations_removed_from_11_articles. I do not believe the IUCN designations should have been removed from the 11 articles. --David Tornheim (talk) 09:39, 28 December 2018 (UTC) stateReply

  • Agree with the designation. As the various cited sources make clear it is indeed a state park (Brazil) and as such is IUCN II. See for example the 2002 Management Plan on the official Parana government website in 2018. It may be part of an APA (Environmental protection area (Brazil)), but that would have a lower IUCN V level of protection, including buffer-zone areas where controlled exploitation is allowed.
