Molecular pathology is much better characterized as a subdiscipline of clinical pathology, rather than of anatomic pathology. Molecular pathology is a combination of molecular biology and pathology, i.e. a study of molecular mechanism of pathological processes, which can also be used in clinical diagnosis, monitor and prognosis of clinical conditions. 72.187.128.198 (talk) 15:07, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

How does this relate to Medical Diagnostics?

Hi,

I'm writing up Medical diagnostics, and reading the editorial outlining the Journal of Medical Diagnostics, which seems to treat the two as co-terminous:

The Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) was founded to bring together researchers, laboratory directors, technologists, trainees, and others devoted to molecular diagnostics. [1]
