Internment camp and tourists

edit

Peacefull99 added yesterday "This internment camp is now a protected site and is visited by tourists." But I was there 3-4 years ago, and saw that the internment camp at Ripples no longer exists and is represented only by a plaque at the base of a hydro tower. So in Ripples there is nothing really to protect or hold tourists for more than 5 minutes.

However in Minto itself there is a very good little museum about the internment camp, located in the municipal building which is visited by tourists and well worth the visit I think. Can this be reworded to make clear that the tourist attraction is in Minto itself rather than at the camp site in Ripples? The internment camp located at 2999 NB-10 Sheffield Parish is still standing and in existence being visited by tourists passing along on the highway, maybe you are mistaken? Hnxkz (talk) 13:32, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Chipman, Minto and Grand Lake Area Amalgamation

edit

As of January 1st, 2022 these three communities have been conjoined as "The Municipality of Grand Lake" so I think it should be added to the site- as Minto will no longer be recognized by the province of New Brunswick as a village or town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hnxkz (talkcontribs) 13:48, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
