Famous people & police

This all sounds very interesting, the last few edits, but very little of it can be verified. For one thing, neither John Foster Dulles nor Christian Herter are known to have lived in Minerva; thus, I'm not sure how "President Dwight D. Eisenhower's secretary of state" could have been from Minerva. Next, who's Jeff Wallace? I find that he's a former player for the Pittsburgh Pirates; but that he was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. No sign that he lived in Minerva, and no article about him on Wikipedia.

But what really blew me away are the allegations of scandal in the Minerva Police Department. Google came up empty; besides, of course, the references that lead us right back to this article. When did this happen? Who was involved? Were charges filed; and if not, why not? These are serious allegations. Let's not open Wikipedia up to a libel suit, please. Oh, and who the heck is "Milhouse G", and why should I care that he's famous on teh internetz? -- SwissCelt 04:53, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

• It was Eisenhower's Secretary of Defense, Charles Erwin Wilson, not secretary of state.

Jeff Wallace attended Minerva High School, and was drafted before going to college. Google turned up a couple pages of draft info which give his hometown as Minerva. I attended MHS at the same time he did. I don't know all the details of the police department scandal, but it did happen. Of course, the other things said about the police themselves in the earlier edit are absolutely true, but I don't know what point it serves to have that information here. A lot of police departments across the US are home to lazy and corrupt law enforcement officers. Oh well.

Tim Taylor?

I suppose it is possible that a 19th-century man shared a name with the main character from Home Improvement, but the link provided requires a login, so I cannot verify it. The town's own website stats that the founder was named John Whitacre (http://ci.minerva.oh.us/). His niece and the town's namesake was one Minerva Ann Taylor, but there's no mention of any Tim or Timothy. Fishal (talk) 05:50, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Can we talk about -Alabama- and that one guy with the keysmash username?

They keep reinstating and deleting parts of the article and the one guys (ljjlljjlh or whatever) account was created a little over 2 weeks ago. It might be a troll. 2600:1016:B004:F8C5:C575:C364:7AC:2D3F (talk) 19:32, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
