Possible promotional editing
Reverted these edits.[1]. Because of a long history of paid and promotional editing on this article, it would be better to discuss changes which de-emphasize the criminal record first. Thanks. Inaccurate Change
My name is Larry Weisenberg and I represent Michael Milken. On September 29, references to Milken’s philanthropy and charitable giving were removed from the lead paragraph. No substantiation was cited, just a stated POV. Just as one can agree that Milken’s legal problems should be part of the lead paragraph, it’s disingenuous to suggest that his four decades of demonstrated philanthropy are not a substantial part of his legacy. There is a considerable wealth of published articles over the past several decades detailing his charitable work, his influence on medical research and public health, and his commitment to improving education.
I’d like to recommend returning to the version before the September 29 edit: Michael Robert Milken (born July 4, 1946) is an American former financier and philanthropist. He is noted for his role in the development of the market for high-yield bonds ("junk bonds"),[2] for his conviction following a guilty plea on felony charges for violating U.S. securities laws, and for his charitable giving. My name is Larry Weisenberg and I represent Michael Milken. Once again, someone has removed the reference to Milken's charitable giving in the lead paragraph and replaced accurate language (securities violations) with charges for which he was not guilty (racketeering). My name is Larry Weisenberg and I represent Mike Milken. Once again, someone has edited the lead paragraph of this entry that is designed to bring a biased, negative POV; in addition it is redundant. The paragraph already states Mr. Milken's conviction following a guilty plea on felony charges. There is no reason to added that he's a convicted felon.
