Talk:Metis TransPacific Airlines

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified (January 2018)

For the members or users, can you give me some informations to be added to the page?

Need to clarify things edit

Couple of clarifications to be made.... Important to say that we have continually tried to make them but they keep getting chnaged back.

Base of Opertaions and headquarters is Macau SAR China. Metis TransPacific was incorporated in Macau in 2006 by Canadian, Chris Colbourne. Its base of operations is Macau, and not Vancouver BC Canada. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metis1 (talkcontribs) 08:03, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Additionally edit

In addition, Metis will launch on December 14 2007 with MFM-YVR-MFM, it did not launch October 22, 2007.

I have different information. edit

BUT, Christopher is a Canadian and "Destination Macau" wrote that the first flight is FROM Vancouver (YVR-MFM-YVR). Additional, it was able to book flights on October 22nd, 2007 and so on.

Update edit

Yes Christopher Colbourne is Canadian BUT Metis is based in Macau and not Vancouver.

Also no bookings were accepted before the date of Dec 14 2007, as it is thier launch date as stated in the first sentence on the front page of their website.

Rgds,

Bookings are accepted edit

You should try to visit the site and choose the time. I've ever tried it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.124.100.201 (talk) 14:06, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re Booking are accepted edit

Yes bookings are accepted but not for any flight(s) before December 14 2007, as that is the launch date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metis1 (talkcontribs) 17:53, 26 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Suspected Hoax edit

Please see the arguments raised here by people who for the most part know what they are talking about: Airliners.net discussion Accordingly, I have placed {{notability}}, {{hoax}}, and {{cn}} tags in the article. -MBK004 15:55, 28 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

This airline is a hoax. There is no record of it in any regulatory body's database, nor on the official airport websites at its destination airports. Further, the image allegedly of a 747-400 on the "official" website is a photoshop edit in violation of copyright of the following image: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1049136/M/. That image is actually of an Air Atlanta Iceland 747-300. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.125.38.161 (talk) 18:21, 28 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

According to Skytrax and many message boards on Airlines.net this airline is a hoax and does not actually exist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.224.191.120 (talk) 00:54, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

PROD edit

I read airliners.net and HKADB about the matter about Metis. As an uninterested editor, I think the current PROD should be removed-- if a fake airline got the notice of a magazine like Skytrax, it would be notable enough.--Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 20:34, 28 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not Acording To Macau Aviation Authority edit

Metis1 Metis (which i doubt actually exists) is not listed in the list of macau airlines in the AACM website —Preceding unsigned comment added by Danigoni (talkcontribs) 01:37, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Links instead of Copy & Paste edit

Please post links to "proof" instead of copy and paste. Material you are pasting could be copyright and WP has a very lengthy bit on why you can't post copyrighted material, if you'd like to read it: WP:COPYRIGHT --ShakataGaNai (talk) 03:51, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Changed copyright edit

I changed this Image:Metis TransPacific Airlines Boeing 747-400.jpg to a fair use status, as this image is the only actual "plane" image we know of regarding the fake airline. Yu owns the copyright, but I believe this is fair use since this is the altered version and not the real version. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:39, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Site is full of errors edit

For example seems that there obviously was an approval granted from Transportation Canada and as such would make the word "hoax" irrelevant and considered an attack upon Metis. Who is in charge of assuring the validity of the implied accusations? Duel127 (talk) 21:00, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

Can someone please explain how this article is considered notable enough for inclusion under WP:N? It seems to me as though the facts of this article boil down to:

  1. There was a website for an airline that may or may not exist
  2. Nothing happened
  3. There is no third point, because nothing happened

I really doubt this warrants an article. 199.126.143.179 (talk) 06:11, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
