Notabllity

edit

Although I appreciate this editor's concern about this book, the subject of the article is certainly notable enough. This book is cited by 221 other works, and most of these are peer reviewed, scientific journal articles. Also, each chapter is cited throughout, by multples of peer reviewed, scientific journal article references, from which the content is derived. That particular sentiment I intend for the article, but I just haven't got to it yet.

For example, the discussion in Chapter 1 is referenced by 74 journal articles from notable journals such as:

  • #51 - IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques (vol. MTT-21)
  • #32 - Journal of Applied Physics (vol. 92)
  • #65 - Physica Review B (vol. 62)
  • #1 - Proceddings Royal Society (vol. 63)

In Chapter 2 there are 34 such references, Chapter 3 there are 17 references, Chapter 4 thirty nine references, and skipping to Chapter 9 there are 46 such references, etc. There are fourteen chapters in all, and each chapter is just as well cited, and referenced.

Furthermore, the copyright for this book is held by the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) and carries the imprint of IEEE Press. J. Wiley & Sons function only as the publisher.

In addition, at least 100 related works are listed. Moreover, the book itself appears to be listed on many web sites. Although this listing is not a demonstration of notability by itself, it does show that this book retains value through display and summation, even though it was published in 2006. In other words, this is not some obscure work. Indeed, all these facts appear to indicate that this book is well known in field of Metamaterials, and perhaps well known in the engineering and physics fields as well. In light of the above commentary, I am removing the PROD tag. ----Steve Quinn (formerly Ti-30X) (talk) 03:05, 2 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
