Core problem with this article edit
At this moment, the article doesn't say a single thing about what this project called "Meishi Smile" is. It asserts that it exists, and then it recounts the activities of Garrett Yim without explaining what unites them into a "project" as opposed to just being a list of miscellaneous activities. —Largo Plazo (talk) 16:55, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
August 2021-update needed edit
There are some concerns I have about this article, such as
- Fei (that's their new name, I believe) came out as transgender, though saying they "do not identify at all with the words 'transgender' nor 'transitioning.'"[1] In a reply to this Tweet (archive URL, reply cannot be seen), which was left as a reply to the message's posting on their Twitter (original URL), they confirmed that they use they/them pronouns, but it cannot be seen anymore due to the Twitter account being deactivated sometime within the last three days. The pronoun fix is easy ("he" used just once), but I do not know how to handle the name change (WP:DEADNAME says to include the deadname if the subject was notable under it... were they notable under their deadname, or only under "Meishi Smile"? I think consensus would be needed for this.).
- The discography is outdated... I will add information for the albums ...Belong and Ressentiment after writing this, and maybe try to work on other parts of the discography later as well.
- Other information about Meishi Smile and Fei is outdated, too. The website changed (again, an easy fix), but I'm not sure where to begin with other information such as the "project" (mentioned in the previous section of this talk page) of Meishi Smile expanding into a larger band on Ressentiment. From Spotify:
"Ressentiment" is the 1st to feature the full Meishi Smile band, which includes Sílva on Guitar, Jason on Bass, and Zachary Roy on Drums.
