Driest place on earth? edit
I remember reading this in the guiness world records, it said that it hasn't rained here for 2 million years. Can't find any sources for this, anyone? Tuwile 09:58, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

- I can't find a primary source for this, but the key word here seems to be "rain" - as shown elsewhere in the article they do receive snowfall of around 100mm/year SWE, considerably more than the Atacama, for instance. I would call this claim perhaps technically true but misleading. 47.12.112.232 (talk) 15:12, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

(Currently nonexistent) etymology section edit
For the etymology section, if it ever gets added: Does the name McMurdo have any relation to death? My sister pointed out it sounded like the spanish word for death, muerte. It would be fitting, because (I'm pretty sure) this valley is even deader than the heat Death Valley in the US. 50.5.100.63 (talk) 23:38, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
