I found this stupid comment on the Marlborough Highway page and put it here: "hey hey everybody whats up this highway is so wickd u gotta b on it to get da feelin man its like wickd az!!! the highway has a road and is very black n u gotta c it!! it is long!!! with cars on it!!!!"

Which brings me to my second point. I live in Tasmania and I am not aware of the Marlborough Highway. When I find out how I'll volunteer this page for deletion.--Lukeisham 10:04, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

The Marlborough Highway joins the Lake Highway and the Lyell Highway in the remote centre of the state.. the comments from the vandal are ironic, as the road is unsealed and therefore not black.  :) The highway isn't an "A" highway so its not very well known. -- Chuq 11:22, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Renaming Article? edit

I thought it was named Marlborough Road not Marlborough Highway? It isn't really a highway. It is a B-road and fairly unsealed. I live in Northern Tasmania and rarely hear of it, or go there, so I won't move it there. Kyle sb 18:02, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Googling for "Marlborough Road" "Tasmania" vs "Marlborough Highway" "Tasmania" gives about 1.5x as many hits to the highway name. Yes, it is a pretty low quality road, so I don't know why it is called that, but its one of those anomalies of the road network. That in itself may be notable :) -- Chuq 22:16, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay I'll leave it at that. I don't know why its a 'highway' either. But roads, especially in Tasmania are like that. I might put a redirect link of Marlborough Road to this page. If its not there already. Kyle sb 09:08, 24 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Don't know if this is any help but the road used to be named "Marlborough Highway" up until approx. 5 years ago when it, and the Lake Highway were re-named as "Roads". The Explanation for the change was that the "Highway" name gave a false impression of the quality of these roads which are in reality only goat tracks.
