Merger proposal edit

I propose merging NOS Marine Forensics Program into this article. As the recent deletion debate showed, NOS Marine Forensics Program has a few problems, including a shortage of sources. Maybe the problems can be fixed (although I can find little on the program aside from its own home page), but a merged article would cover the subject better. NOAA has two forensics programs, the other being in the Northwest Fisheries Science Center, and much that can be said of one can be said of both. At the same time, Marine forensics is in poor shape and the material from NOS Marine Forensics Program would help a lot. RockMagnetist (talk) 15:48, 22 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Marine Factors edit

Hello,

I thought it would be a good idea to add in information about taphonomy factors in a marine environment as the lead's second sentence mentions how the topic also refers to the study of accidents or death dealing with all types of bodies of water so listing what factors the remains have to deal with will be a good way to show what investigators have to do. Explaining these environmental factors does not only aid information with death investigation in water but helps to give general information as to what any investigation in a marine environment is like; for example: with fisheries, marine mammals, and endangered species where analyses need to be conducted
