POV issues

Please hard delete unproven, potentially libelous contributions from the same user using the addresses 67.169.160.146|67.169.160.146 and 64.81.240.236, 64.164.222.25|64.164.222.25 sourced from the East Bay Express, a struggling weekly that has lost much of it's readership to the internet and thus relies on sensationalism and half-baked, poorly research journalism to gain readers, and who is known in the Bay Area for it's unprofessional journalism and attacks on "the black establishment" , especially the "full disclosure" series of articles which are according to the editor himself Stephen Buell are mostly "the opinion" of the writer Robert Gammon, and not necessarily strictly based on facts. In a response to a letter to the editor, Buell states that "you would think the readers should this". In the last two months alone the Express has done hit pieces on Black journalist JR Valrey and Black Mayor Ron Dellums. That a detractor of the article's subject, a frequent blogger named Max Alstadt and the writer Robert Gammon collaborated to attempt to slander the subject's name for their own political gain is leaked by the article itself in the following paragraph:

"As Diallo's fortunes plummeted, Max Allstadt's were on the rise. The young white activist had moved to West Oakland several years earlier and hooked up with a group of friends who were challenging the neighborhood's traditional black and progressive power structure. Allstadt's clique includes Sean Sullivan, who ran unsuccessfully against Nadel in the 2008 council primary, andRebecca Schneider, a city employee who operates the blogABetterOakland.com under the pseudonym, VSmoothe. Allstadt himself is a guest blogger and frequent commenter on Schneider's site, (and also has posted several strongly worded criticisms of this reporter in comments at EastBayExpress.com). He also is politically active and won a spot last year on the West Oakland Community Development Block Grant board, which recommends financial grants to worthy nonprofits. "

All in all, this article that just came out November 18 will most likely be retracted by the East Bay Express by next week due to the overwhelming amount of letters to the editor and community outrage that the East Bay Express would be unprofessional enough and so desperate for readership as to print such a one-sided, negative story. So, it definitely shouldn't be allowed to be used as reliable source data within Wikipedia. The users who are continually inserting the libelous content definitely have a political agenda, or why would they be wasting so much time attempting to slander one person. Wikipedia is about truth, not opinion and speculation. Right now, the East Bay Express article is all opinion and speculation, without any conclusive evidence whatsoever. The subject has not been proven guilty of libel or fraud, and the so-called personal information "disclosed" in the article, without speaking to the subject himself is pure speculation. the administrators of this site should not allow such petty, detractors to use Wikipedia as a platform for their racist and political agendas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Truth360 (talkcontribs) 14:12, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Truth360,

That's about the most POV accusation of POV content I have ever seen! As for the East Bay Express, they are equal opportunity muckrakers who have repeatedly published unfavorable articles about white, black, asian, and latino politicians and political types. Don Perata, Ignacio De La Fuente, and many other non-blacks have been embarrassed by the East Bay Express, and Robert Gammon's articles, even when accusatory, are all sourced from verifiable public records. Suggest deletion. Note history... this page is a vanity page created either by the subject or an ally of the subject. Self aggrandizing, unnecessarily lengthy, and very very POV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.81.240.236 (talk) 04:30, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

On 11/23/09 a new user named Truth360 deleted sourced information that was written in an NPOV manner, but which is unfavorable to the subject of this article. A revert war is imminent. Admins, please help.67.169.160.146 (talk) 14:56, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

  1. Once again, a new user http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Truth360 has deleted the same sourced NPOV info, in an attempt to hide information from two Oakland/San Francisco Newspapers that is highly unfavorable to the subject of this article. • I tend to agree with the ip user. It's not up to us to decide on our own not to trust information from a reliable source, this looks like an attempt to whitewash the article and keep out any negative information. If the allegations turn out to be false, we can add that to the article as well. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:42, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
  • I've resored the content and listed this issue at WP:BLPN. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:52, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
  1. Beeblebrox,

Thank you for your input. I am the most recent IP user, and was unable to sign in for technical reasons. If it is possible to re-sign correctly, I will figure that out. Also, I believe that much of this article reads like a resume or promotional literature and should be heavily edited to create a more encyclopaedic tone. 02:20, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Name

The East Bay Express article indicates that his birth name was "Marcel Diallo Jack." Unless there is another reliable source indicating this is false, it should not be changed. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:19, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

WP:SOCK

After examining the history of this page, it has become clear that there is abusive sockpuppetry going on. The original account seems to have been User:Mukulu10. If I had to guess, I would say this is probably Mr. Diallo himself, reapetedly attempting to whitewash the article. I've blocked all the most obvious socks, and the master account. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:33, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

worse that a sock?

It appears that User:Mukulu10 is indeed Marcel Diallo. Here is a link showing how likely this is: http://www.eastbayexpress.com/ebx/Profile/Comments?oid=1164413&display=comments

This link is an announcement of an event hosted at Diallo's music venue. It is signed Mukulu and the user refers to the venue as his own. This implies that Marcel Diallo created his own Wikipedia entry, and that everything created by User:Mukulu10 and it's Socks on this page probably needs to be re-vetted and possibly even re-written. And the award for inept attempts at deception on the internet goes to... Seriously, this guy should stick to his art projects and spoken word albums, he's one of the most inept wiki-fraudsters I've ever seen. I won't say more per WP:BEANS. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:53, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

It appears there are attempts to re-sanitize this article now that the protection has expired. Please re-protect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.248.177.34 (talk) 01:49, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
