The historical picture used   gives no sense of the commonest used of the term maillot as applied to swimsuits. I'm adding another pic, from the fifties, illustrating a more typical garment. Centrepull (talk) 10:35, 21 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

French maillots de bain edit

The usage of maillots de bain for men is not resticted to persian and arabian languages. Mens swimming trunks are universally referred to as maillot de bain (homme) in France. --92.201.229.78 (talk) 10:05, 6 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
