ATTENTION EDITORS!! If you know of any sources either on-line, or in print that this article can find basis in, please update the source citations for the article. (I will also be hunting for these, as a graduate of this school I might be able to track some of these down...) Edit Centric (talk) 18:04, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

History and Courses sections: a few points

edit

History: "The school's original colors were purple and white. In 1949, with the color purple becoming scarce after the events of World War II, it was changed to its current blue-and-white color scheme. Purple has since been adopted as one of the main colors of Madera South High School."

The story I heard as a student was different: the original purple was replaced with blue because the purple dye on the track uniforms faded in sunlight. I have no print or online reference for this. There may be a mention in the Tribune's archives.

Are the colors of the South school really relevant here? Suggest omitting.

History: "From the early-1900s until sometime in the 1950s, the school was known as Madera Union High School, and was subsequently referred to as such in the following decades until 1992."

When I went to MUHS, in the 1960s, its name was still officially Madera Union High School. Why divide the time span into two like that, with a split "sometime in the 1950s"?

Courses: The sentence (if it is one) in this section badly needs rewriting. I'd fix it if I knew what its writer was trying to say.

The Courses section seems to be about recent changes in what some programs are called. The list leaves out academic courses. Doesn't this school offer a college-prep program anymore? Physical education is also missing. Cognita (talk) 04:57, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
